Myrddin Janus has been a teacher on Second Life for over two years, and still holds regular classes at Sensual StoneWorks, teaching new citizens and more experienced builders a wide variety of skills. These are not just limited to virtual building - there is even a class on how to brew real life wine!
These classes are free to all citizens, but tips are always welcome. I cannot profess to be an expert at everything, but if I can help, I will - so if you have any suggestions for future classes, workshops, or tutorials - please feel free to ask.
To take a class at Sensual StoneWorks, you will need to be age verified as it is Adult land. Also, if you wish to take part in building excercises, you will need to be a member of Sensual StoneWorks Updates group in order to be able to use the sandbox.
It's worthwhile joining - SSWU is one the more active groups in SL and everyone is very friendly.

Sensual StoneWorks sim may be gone, but the classes live on. Though initially intended for the staff of Gaslight Extreme, SSWU students are also welcome - every Monday evening at 1.30 pm SLT - look out for notices.
If anybody still wants to see classes at Blaidd Drwg, please get in touch and let me know what are most convenient times and dates - but be aware that i live in UK and work full time, so may not be available.
I know there are fewer people attending classes on SL generally at the moment - the last three classes I attended myself had pretty low turnouts, and they were at SIMs that usually get a high traffic. Hopefully this will eventually change. But to be honest folks - if SIM owners dont get enough traffic to justify paying a teacher, and tips dont even cover the cost of uploading the textures, Education at Second Life is going to disappear. If I sit around making items that sell coz fewer people want to learn how to make them themselves, that makes money for me.
